Limerick
Limerick has a charter dating back to 1782. It is notable for the town hall built in 1816 by Peter Jones.
The River Shannon - Killaloe to the sea was built by Nicholas Hunter and opened on January 1 1888. In 1972 the canal became famous when Peter Green painted a mural of Barington Locks on the side of Edward Wood's house for a bet.
