Prior to this, the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal crossed the River Tame via a seven-arched aqueduct, each with a span [Aston Junction] terminates and meets the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal near to Aston, Birmingham, England. The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal was authorised by an Act of Parliament [Tame Valley Canal] End, and terminates at Salford Junction where it meets the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal and the Grand Union Canal. It is 8.5 miles (13.7 km) long and has [Lichfield Canal] through 30 locks to reach Huddlesford Junction, on the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal near Lichfield.
