![Mirfield railway station, Yorkshire. Opened in 1866 by the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway, this station replaced an earlier one some 180m further away from the camera position. As built, the station had a large island platform with bays at each end, and an overall roof. The roof was removed in 1977 and the platform greatly shortened.
