[Stratford-upon-Avon Canal] iron aqueducts, unusual in that the towpaths are at the level of the canal bottom. Travelling south from Kingswood Junction, the first aqueduct is the [Grand Union Canal] three sections between Norton junction and the River Trent (collectively known as the 'Leicester line') are mixed in size. From Norton to Foxton, the route [Grand Junction Canal] more direct route from Foxton in Leicestershire to the Grand Junction at Norton Junction. The 1794 act authorised three further branches, to Aylesbury [Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Union Canal] canal at Foxton and the Grand Junction canal at Norton Junction. The company was eventually bought by the Grand Junction Canal company in 1894. It is 48 [Canals of the United Kingdom] up and down hills, and they strode across valleys on taller and longer aqueducts and through hills in longer and deeper tunnels.
