Winnington Bridge

Also known as: Winnington Swing Bridge
Swing Bridge control cabin, Swing Bridge, Barnton CW8 4JX, United Kingdom

Information about the place
Winnington Bridge is a minor waterways place on the River Weaver (Main Line) between Mill Wharf (southeast entrance) (3 miles and 4¾ furlongs and 1 lock to the west) and Anderton Lift Junction (River Weaver) (3 furlongs to the east).

The nearest place in the direction of Mill Wharf (southeast entrance) is Barnton Cut Junction (East end of Barnton Cut and entrance to weir - No Access); 4¼ furlongs away.

The nearest place in the direction of Anderton Lift Junction (River Weaver) is Winnington Weir Entrance (Channel leading to the Weir); 2¼ furlongs away.

There is access (suitable for wheels) to the towpath here.

Mooring here is tolerable (it's just about possible if really necessary), mooring pins are needed.

There is a swing bridge here which takes a road over the canal. The bridge does not need to be opened for normal waterway traffic.
