In April 2012 when we revisited the basin, our prop found a significant quantity of rubbish in and around the basin, including a motorbike tyre, an item of clothing and plastic bags, all of which disabled the boat until removed via the weedhatch. So, be wary of going too fast, as control can easily be lost just when you need it most!
