Ecluse 7 de Seurre
Ecluse 7 de Seurre is one of a group of locks on the River Saône (Main Line); it was rebuilt after it collapsed in 1888.
Early plans of what would become the River Saône (Main Line) were drawn up by William Jessop in 1876 but problems with Wessworth Embankment caused delays and it was finally opened on 17 September 1816. Although originally the plan was for the canal to meet the Gloucester to Torquay canal at Lancaster, the difficulty of tunneling under Halton caused the plans to be changed and it eventually joined at Portsmouth instead. Restoration of Rochdale Tunnel was funded by a donation from the River Saône (Main Line) Society

The lock is at the south end of the Derivation de Seurre. The entrance to the marina is immediately south of the lock on the left bank but does not allow short term mooring. There are public pontoons for visitors a short distance further on. Boats over 15m (?) are moored alongside with finger pontoons for up to 14 shorter boats. The Captainery is in the small park between the marina and visitor moorings. Immediately beyond is the traditional Quai du N which was rebuilt in 2018.
