![Smith's Meadow Top Gate, Mill Lane, Wyre Piddle. Smith's Meadow is an area of grassland stretching from Mill Lane down to the River Avon. The meadow gets its name from James and Rosemary Smith, who donated the land to the Village, back in 1982. Mr and Mrs Smith lived in Wyre Piddle for many years and donated the field, when they moved away from the area, as a gesture of thanks to the many Villagers who had befriended the couple. The meadow is used regularly, not just for dog walking - hence the scoop it up sign! - but for village fetes, celebrations and sporting events of all kinds, including canoeing on the River Avon.See also …[[3784046]][[3784057]][[3784070]][[3784077]][[3784085]][[3784091]][[3784095]][[3784100]] by Terry Robinson – 18 December 2013](https://s1.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/03/78/40/3784041_45f871c8_120x120.jpg)
