It raises the waterway 220 feet (67 m), and lies between the Tardebigge tunnel (580 yards or 530 metres [Worcester and Birmingham Canal] Tunnel was open and the canal was trading to Hopwood. In 1807 the canal reached Tardebigge without the use of locks. From Worcester Bar to Tardebigge [Avon Ring] the final section is level.
