[Hill's Tramroad] quarries, through Garnddyrys Forge and on to the Llanfoist wharf. The tramroad from Pwll Du to Llanfoist was abandoned in 1861 after the railway reached [Pwll Du Tunnel] the Garnddyrys Forge. The tramway was extended past Garnddyrys to Llanfoist Wharf on the Brecknock and Abergavenny Canal. The tramway from Pwll Du to [Garnddyrys Forge] Hill II, built what became called Hill's Tramroad from Pwll Du to the Llanfoist wharf around 1815. This linked Blaenavon via Pwll Du and Garnddyrys to the [Dyne Steel Incline] continued along Hill's Tramroad to the Garnddyrys Forge and on to the Llanfoist wharf. It operated from around 1850 to 1860. From 1817 the main route for [Govilon] village located between Llanfoist and Gilwern near Abergavenny in north Monmouthshire. It is part of the community of Llanfoist Fawr. the population was [Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal] From the Pontymoile junction, the Brecknock and Abergavenny runs through Llanfoist near Abergavenny and Talybont, ending at a basin in Brecon. The canal [Llanvihangel Railway] promoted in 1810. The railway was constructed from a coal wharf on the canal east by way of Llanfoist, across the River Usk by means of a bridge constructed [Govilon railway station] installed on one of the station platforms. It was the nearest station to Llanfoist House, the residence of Crawshay Bailey, director of the Merthyr company [Crumlin Arm (Monmouthshire canal)] Gilwern Wharf Afon Clydach aqueduct A4077 Gilwern Bridge A465 Heads of the Valleys Road Llanwenarth aqueduct, Govilon former railway bridge Llanfoist and [Pontymoile Basin] near Pontypool Park and is a stopping point for boats en route to Goetre Wharf.
