[Helpringham] Helpringham is a village and civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies on the edge of the Fens, and 5 miles (8 km) [Car Dyke] an 85-mile (137 km) long ditch which runs along the western edge of the Fens in eastern England. It is generally accepted as being of Roman age and, for [South Forty-Foot Drain] channel for the land-drainage of the Black Sluice Level in the Lincolnshire Fens. It lies in eastern England between Guthram Gowt and the Black Sluice pumping [Stickney railway station] Stickney railway station is a former station in the village of Stickney, in the Lincolnshire Fens. It closed in 1970. Historic England. "Stickney station [Great Northern and Great Eastern Joint Railway] 1961; Donington Road; opened 6 March 1882; closed 11 September 1961; Helpringham; opened 6 March 1882; closed 4 July 1955; Sleaford South Junction; there [Lincolnshire loop line] Lincolnshire loop line was a 58-mile (93 km) double-track railway built by the Great Northern Railway, that linked Peterborough to Lincoln via Spalding and [Woodhall Junction railway station] leaving the Loop Line just south of Woodhall Junction and cut across the fens to Midville allowing faster journey times to Skegness.
