[Blisworth] Blisworth is a village and civil parish in the South Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England. The West Coast Main Line, from London Euston [Grand Junction Canal] 1796. However, Blisworth Tunnel continued to cause problems, collapsing in January 1796. The canal was opened from Braunston to Blisworth in 1797. The canal [Towcester] Birmingham Railway was opened, which bypassed Towcester and passed through Blisworth; four miles away but enough to result in Towcester quickly reverting to [Grand Union Canal] shortly by Blisworth Tunnel, at 3,056 yards (2,794 m) one of the longest of UK canals. Once clear of the tunnel, the canal passes Blisworth village and [The Canal Museum] canal museum located next to the Grand Union Canal just south of the Blisworth Tunnel, near the village of Stoke Bruerne in Northamptonshire. It is about [Northampton] Peterborough Railway, a branch from the main London and Birmingham Railway from Blisworth to Peterborough through Northampton which opened in 1845 along with the [Sulgrave] 1872 the Northampton and Banbury Junction Railway was opened between Blisworth and Farthinghoe. It passed roughly east–west through Greatworth parish [Stratford-upon-Avon] Stratford with the main line of the London & North Western Railway at Blisworth until passenger trains were withdrawn in 1952.
