[River Gade] The River Gade is a river running almost entirely through Hertfordshire. It rises from a spring in the chalk of the Chiltern Hills at Dagnall, Buckinghamshire [River Colne, Hertfordshire] its junction with the Grand Junction, to cross the Fray's River, the River Colne and the Colne Brook. Between Croxley Green, where the River Gade joins [Rickmansworth] the administrative seat of the Three Rivers District Council. The confluence of the River Chess and the River Gade with the Colne in Rickmansworth inspired [Grand Union Canal] Rickmansworth. Here it merges with the Rivers Chess, Colne and Gade. After Rickmansworth, the canal follows the valley of the Gade, passing the site of Croxley [Frank Rowley] He led the design team for the Gade Valley Viaduct of the M25, north of junction 20 of the M25 over the River Gade and West Coast Main Line, west of [Watford] Charing Cross. It is situated on the River Colne, and initially developed as a small market town until the Grand Junction Canal encouraged the construction [Kings Langley] south of the village on an imposing viaduct across the River Gade valley. To the north of junction 20 with the A41, a dual-carriageway bypasses Kings Langley [Cassiobridge tube station] provenance. There was a Cassiobridge Farm close to a bridge over the River Gade and nearby there is an early 19th-century timber house called Cassiobridge [Grand Junction Canal] The Grand Junction Canal is a canal in England from Braunston in Northamptonshire to the River Thames at Brentford, with a number of branches. The mainline [A405 road] over the River Gade and past the hamlet of Chandler's Cross. It then veered south to pass between Rickmansworth and Chorleywood, crossing the River Chess
