[Coseley] Coseley (/ˈkoʊzli/ KOHZ-lee) is a village in the north of the Dudley Metropolitan Borough, in the English West Midlands. Part of the Black Country, it [BCN Main Line] opened together with the 360 yard Coseley Tunnel, complete with double towpath, cutting out the long detour around Coseley and Wednesbury Oak, and therefore [Wednesbury Oak Loop] Telford's improvements of the 1830s bypassed it by the construction of the Coseley Tunnel. The south-eastern end of the loop was closed and in parts built over [West Midlands (county)] unaltered; Dudley, which absorbed all of Brierley Hill as well as most of Coseley and Sedgley, and part of Amblecote, Tipton and Rowley Regis; Solihull, [Tipton] Green, the Tibbington Estate near Princes End, (Princes End came under Coseley at the time) the Moat Farm Estate at Ocker Hill (which earned the nickname [Bradley Branch] cutting, but which incorporated the Coseley Tunnel, construction of which was authorised in 1835. The new line and tunnel were opened on 6 November 1837. [West Coast Main Line] principal rail freight corridor linking the European mainland (via the Channel Tunnel) through London and South East England to the West Midlands, North West [Dudley] former urban districts of Brierley Hill and Sedgley, along with parts of Coseley, Amblecote and Rowley Regis; an area in the eastern section of the town [Wren's Nest Estate] the remaining pupils and staff were split between Castle High and The Coseley School, and the Mons Hill buildings were incorporated into Dudley College [Birmingham New Street railway station] This tunnel is 927 yards (848 m) long in total, comprising the original New Street North Tunnel, 751 yards (687 m) and extension: 'Arena' Tunnel, 176
