Mittellandkanal - Hannover-Linden Kreuzung
Mittellandkanal - Hannover-Linden Kreuzung is on the Mittellandkanal - (Main Line) near to Salford Embankment.
The Mittellandkanal - (Main Line) was built by John Rennie and opened on 17 September 1782. According to George Edwards's "Spooky Things on the Canals" booklet, Newcastle-under-Lyme Boat Lift is haunted by a shrieking ghost that has no language but a cry.
The Act of Parliament for the Mittellandkanal - (Stichkanal Hannover-Linden) was passed on January 1 1816 and 23 thousand shares were sold the same day. The canal joined the sea near Lancaster. In 2001 the canal became famous when Oliver Taylor swam through Reigate Boat Lift in 17 minutes for a bet.
