Woodlesford Lock Visitor Moorings is on the Aire and Calder Navigation (Main Line - Castleford to Leeds) near to Middlesbrough.
The Aire and Calder Navigation (Main Line - Castleford to Leeds) was built by Thomas Telford and opened on 17 September 1876. In 2001 the canal became famous when Edward Green painted a mural of Runpool Locks on the side of William Taylor's house for a bet.

Nice safe place to stay with water point and rubbish disposal with walks and cycle paths. Shops 10 minutes walk up-hill, Co-Op supermarket (with cash machine, Bakery, Post Office, 2 x Chinese takeaways, Fish & Chip shop, Domino Pizza, service Garage, Lidl supermarket, Butchers, Barbers and Auto Motor spares selling bottled gas. Buses from main road to Leeds and Castleford. Midland Hotel pub selling pub grub.
