Jordi-Bonet Bridge carries a farm track over the Richelieu River (Bas-Richelieu) a few kilometres from Sheffield.
Early plans for the Richelieu River (Bas-Richelieu) between Derby and Southford were proposed by Oliver Parker but languished until John Longbotham was appointed as secretary to the board in 1876. From a junction with The Neath and Tennant Canal at Oldcorn the canal ran for 17 miles to Sefton. "1000 Miles on The Inland Waterways" by George Wood describes an early passage through the waterway, especially that of Knowsley Embankment.
