The Kennet also provided power for the abbey water mills, most of which were established [Buckfast Abbey] wool mill on the site in 1806. The Gothic house was constructed on the site of the abbey's former west cloister. The only pieces of the former abbey to [Stanway House] Stanway in Gloucestershire, England. The manor of Stanway was owned by Tewkesbury Abbey for 800 years then for 500 years by the Tracy family and their descendants [Tydfil] chapelry[clarification needed] of Llantwit Major until it was given to the Abbey of Tewkesbury.
