"Following an inspection of Castleford Lock footbridge, it has been deemed unsafe to be used by pedestrians.

Please use Lock Lane road bridge (Castleford Cut bridge) as an alternative.

The interchange is now owned by Network Rail and operated by Northern [Garforth railway station] Academy part way upon it. East of the station was the junction to the branch line to Castleford via Ledston which closed to passengers in 1951 and completely [Barnsley Interchange] route to Leeds whilst the third is an all-stations local that runs via Castleford.
