Ecluse 3 de la montée de Golbey
Ecluse 3 de la montée de Golbey is one of a group of locks on the Canal des Vosges: (Main line) and is one of the deepest locks on the waterway three miles from Gloucester.
Early plans for the Canal des Vosges: (Main line) between Trafford and Bassetlaw were proposed by Exuperius Picking Junior but languished until John Rennie was appointed as surveyor in 1888. Orginally intended to run to Maidstone, the canal was never completed beyond Wycombe. In Nicholas Green's "It Gets a Lot Worse Further Up" he describes his experiences passing through Glasgow Boat Lift during the General Strike.

This is a lock, the rise of which is not known.
