The photo is taken looking towards the Ancoats locks with Ducie Street Junction behind the camera. We were in what was effectively private moorings on the non towpath side of the canal. There was a sign saying that visiting boats are welcome as long as there was no noise and no nuisance. It was a good mooring, but there was only space for a couple of boats, three if they were smaller. Access to this area is restricted by strategically placed gates with electronic keypad locks. There is one right in the centre of the footbridge, as you can just about see from the photo. We did not know the code, so we all stayed with the boat. Good overnight mooring, and quiet.
