Bridge 42 is the nearest the Ashby Canal gets to Market Bosworth where there are several pubs, a restaurant and several shops including a good local Co-op store.
Market Bosworth is worth visiting but it is a generous three quarters of a mile walk from the bridge. The town features an attractive market square, the 'Dixie' School (where Dr Johnson taught briefly) and a country park.
There are good moorings here, water points and a winding hole to the north side of the bridge.
Bosworth Water Park is about half a mile along the road to the right - in the opposite direction to the town.
