On the left hand side adjacent to the towpath used to be a large carpet factory, which following closure in the 1980s fell into a serious state of disrepair before finally being demolished in the late-1990s, and today it is difficult to trace any remains of the factory in this area, and further on towards Wolverley just out of site round the bend, houses have been built on former warehouses. With all of the modernisation of the area alongside the canal in Kidderminster over the last decade, you would have thought that British Waterways and Wyre Forest Council between them could have at least given Limekiln Bridge a fresh coat of paint. Since the previous photograph was taken in August 2002 the bridge has declined further, and that was its good side, the other side is worse.
