What is not immediately obvious is that there has been a lot of development beyond the bridge. You can see the new buildings behind the bridge. Also, the towpath has been re-developed and is all solid, no grass anymore. Some good moorings here. Also, as we came through on the way up the canal, the lift bridge was being modified with some new electrics to make it completely automatic. Previously, the barrier was manually operated, the man told us it would now be electric.
