Historic grab handle and foot step below lock 27

This historic grab handle and foothold is still available to use allowing boaters to easily gain access to the offside bottom for the lock, when working uphill. Also note the rope marks in the stonework to the left of the grab handle which point to the starter hook alas no longer present.
