There are two pleasant walks to good pubs from Hambleden Lock. You can cross the weir and walk north to the attractive village of Hambleden and visit the Stag and Huntsman but my preference is the walk either along the towpath, or across the fields (why not make it a circular walk?), to the Flowerpot in Aston.
