The basin on a warm summers day

The basin is actually around 200 metres past the wharf. You can wind here and you cannot go past the entrance further along the canal. The moorings are open to anyone at a cost of £6 per 24 hours, which we think is worth it. Tickets for mooring are available from a hut further back down the canal just before getting to the town and are also valid for moorings on the canal (no free mooring in Llangollen). Beware, there are no moorings between the start of the 125m narrows and the basin itself. Every mooring 'bay' has a water point and electric hookup. The town is just the other side of bridge 45 (Siambr Bridge). Plenty of eating and drinking places and very picturesque, we spent almost all the 24 hours here.
