View of the rather different east side, following an accident involving a tractor and trailer on 20th October 2008

Half of the road bed has gone as well as the east parapet. The bridge is said to be 200 years old, and is a historic structure. There is hope that it can be rebuilt, but that depends on the results of structural surveys.
