Access ladder has its own gate. The mooring bar is no longer in use due to the prohibition of mooring hereabouts. It allows mooring in commercial days to accommodate changes in water levels because this pound was then semi-tidal. While waiting for a half-hour for our appointment to use the lock, Rangers from the monitoring centre enquired of our plans as we had appeared on their CCTV monitoring as a vessel which was not moving.
