Water from Wilton reservoir, being pumped via the Crofton Pumping Station (next to Lock 60) to supply the Kennet & Avon Canal summit pound (since 1812, by steam or electric), is exiting into the pound, via a mile-long leat, just off to the left of this photo and within the winding hole.
Pleasant quiet spot, no roads, except occasional train.
