It was followed by the Chirk Aqueduct and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, both [River Ceiriog] Valley in Wrexham County Borough. It flows below Chirk Castle and the town of Chirk, where the Chirk Aqueduct carries the Llangollen Canal over the river.
