What Changed in February 2020
Sunday 2 February 2020
- Pre-release patch to restore geodata dropdown in menus (same problem as several others around having two menus) - fixes issue 702
- Major redesign to PDF generation, although using the same framework. Instead of taking maps from the itinerary, and hitting problems with having too many live maps at any one time, each map (summary, daily, any missing closeups) is generated as part of PDF generation and uploaded. Really quite complicated to synchronise processes working on the server and processes working on the browser, but works in testing!
Fixes issues 688, 693, 697 and 701.
→ Release 9.35.7
To Wednesday 5 February 2020
- Added the ability to add websites directly to waterways rather than via places
- Added the ability to add websites directly to features rather than via places
- Added the ability to add websites directly to areas rather than via places
- Areas now get waterway website links
Together these more than fix issue 698
→ Release 9.35.8
Thursday 6 February 2020

Monday 10 February 2020
- Place ID fixing caused the showing of deleted photos to fail too.

→ Release 9.35.8.1
Thursday 13 February 2020

Friday 14 February 2020
- Fixed the waterway ID to address issue 709
- Fixed that this then broken waterway extra editing
- Fixed a JS bug resulting from the new menus that broke the display for additional waterway information (also issue 709).

Saturday 22 February 2020
- Multiple patches to catch further unexpected side effects of 9.35.8 - added code to strip "w:" prefix off waterway IDs in activity_log.can

Saturday 29 February 2020
- A large part of new route entry code integrated behind the scenes but not activated at all.
- An enhancement to the checking of place names to prevent equivalent names (because of accented characters getting folded) sneaking in - the cause of issue 713 and logged under issue 714.
- Changes to the stylesheets to restore printing of route output. I didn't know so many people did this (issue 715).
- Improved layout for printing a bit while I was at it (removed menus, added a simple headline).
