The Cotswold Canals (Thames and Severn Canal - Main section) is a broad canal and is part of the Cotswold Canals (Thames and Severn Canal). It runs for 25 miles and 6½ furlongs through 36 locks from Thames - Thames and Severn Canal - Coln Junction (where it joins the River Thames (above Lechlade) and the River Thames (above Oxford)) to Bourne Bridge (where it joins the Cotswold Canals (Thames and Severn Canal - Wide/long lock section)).

The maximum dimensions for a boat to be able to travel on the waterway are 90 feet long and 12 feet and 6 inches wide. The maximum headroom is not known. The maximum draught is not known.

It has a junction with the Cotswold Canals (Thames and Severn Canal - Whelford Canal Feeder) at Whelford Canal Feeder Arm.
