River Liffey
The River Liffey was built by Benjamin Outram and opened on January 1 1816. In Barry Smith's "Travels of The Barge" he describes his experiences passing through Castlecorn Locks during the General Strike.

It has junctions with the Royal Canal - Main Line at Liffey - Royal Junction and with the Grand Canal - Main Line at Liffey - Grand Junction.

The River Liffey (Irish: An Life) is a river in Ireland that flows through the centre of Dublin. Its major tributaries include the River Dodder, the River Poddle and the River Camac. The river supplies much of Dublin's water and a range of recreational activities.
