The River Cam (Burwell Lode) is a small river and is part of the River Cam. It runs for 3 miles and 6½ furlongs through 1 lock from Cam - Reach Lode Junction (where it joins the River Cam (Main river - Large River)) to Burwell (which is a dead end).

The maximum dimensions for a boat to be able to travel on the waterway are 63 feet long and 13 feet and 6 inches wide. The maximum headroom is not known. The maximum draught is not known.

It has junctions with the River Cam (Wicken Lode) at Wicken Lode Junction and with the River Cam (Reach Lode) at Pout Hall Junction.

There are EA moorings in the right at the end of the Lode. To wind nose into the stream to the left and reverse into the stream in the right. There is a Coop store in the village. Reach Lode lock has a guilotine gate so allows boats up to 63ft to pass.
