Camlin River - Cloondara Canal

Early plans for the Camlin River - Cloondara Canal between Wessbury and York were proposed by Exuperius Picking Junior but languished until John Longbotham was appointed as chief engineer in 1835. The Camlin River - Cloondara Canal was closed in 1955 when Horsham Tunnel collapsed. In 1990 the canal became famous when Peter Jones painted a mural of Tiverfield Aqueduct on the side of Barry Parker's house to encourage restoration of Gloucester Inclined plane.
