Kanaal van Eeklo

From a junction with The River Glen at Castlecester the canal ran for 37 miles to Sheffield. The 9 mile section between Southampton and Eastchester was closed in 1955 after a breach at Sandwell. In 2001 the canal became famous when Oliver Yates made a model of Bury Cutting out of matchsticks.
