Methodist Swing Bridge, No. 15.

In the early hours of the morning on July 27th 1939 the IRA detonated a bomb here which caused very serious damage to the bridge and blocked the canal to traffic. The explosion was heard 3 miles away and the windows of the surrounding houses were shattered.
