Title: Oxford Canal
Post by: Shultzy on Oct 05, 2016, 10:35 PM
I've cruised the Oxford Canal many times since the 60s, but can't believe the poor state of it today.
Hugely overgrown, and dangerously so in places like corners or approaching bridges.
Valuable overnight moorings so overgrown it's impossible to tie up.
So shallow in places making corners, of which there are plenty of tight ones, very difficult to navigate unless occupying the centre cut, risking colliding with other boaters.
Fenny Compton \"tunnel\" really prompted me to write here, so overgrown, especially at either end, making it a one way cut for over a mile.
What do other boaters think?

Was not this comment signed by Chrissie in its previous status and the anon attribution here is perhaps inaccurate ?
