Summary0000391: Not possible to plan to stop overnight at Dog and Doublet visitor mooring (Curdworth flight)
DescriptionI am recording a trip we did and stopped at the Dog & Doublet visitor mooring, when I try to enter this the route planner insists that the overnight stop is at the end of the Curdworth flight.
Steps To ReproduceRoute planner trip key 8940_8OH689LfS1
See that stop is at the D&D visitors moorings
Select calculate route and get the output:
Third full day of trip
On the the Birmingham Canal Navigations (Birmingham and Fazeley Canal - Main Line), at Canal Pool Moorings (as instructed although it is in a lock flight) (nearly at Fishers Mill Aqueduct).

You are right - and thanks for the clear report and the saved route.

Dog in a Doublet, being a visitor mooring in a lock flight, should have been flagged as a suitable place to stop depite being in a flight. I've now done that and on testing it seems to now do things properly.

But it's giving the wrong message - it should have given you the one about moving the stopping place because it was in a flight, not the one about stopping despite it being in a flight. So that needs fixing.

I also need to do something about places being clearly labelled as moorings but not flagged as suitable stopping places. I need to think about whether to do this as an automatic job or as part of the "help us" data cleanup system.

For both these reasons I'm leaving the bug open. But you should be able to plan your route correctly now!

Thanks

For information the curdworth flight is widely separated with many suitable mooring points between the locks so a system to mark a flight in general as either “no mooring in flight” or as “mooring possible” might be useful.

I've just changed the code so that anywhere that is marked as a decent mooring will be used to stop at, even if it falls inside a flight.
