New Islington Marina

This link is not yet made, but will I think, make a connection with the Ashton Canal

The new canal does not link to the Ashton Canal, there is no way through at what was Old Mill Street. The whole area is now New Islington Marina http://www.urbansplash.co.uk/documents/MarinaBrochure.pdf And has bookable visitor moorings on both ends.

There is a new footbridge in place linking the towpath across the entrance to the marina from the Rochdale canal, however it is unusual in that it crosses from the towpath to Redhill St. on the other side of the canal and back again to the towpath on the other side of the marina entrance http://www.east-manchester.com/visiting/visiting-themes/canals-and-waterways/attractions/rochdale-canal-bridge/index.htm
